CREATING YOUR SCL ROADMAP

MPS recognizes that approximately seventy percent of public education organizations in the United States serve twenty-four hundred students or less.  These small organizations have extremely limited resources available for extraneous professional services similar to developing a SCL Roadmap.  Therefore, MPS is taking an innovative approach providing three levels of service:

MPS ON SITE:

MPS personnel will facilitate and generate a Student-Centered Learning Roadmap for your district in collaboration with a District team.  This level of service provides a “turn-key” plan minimizing the district resources deflected from normal operations during the generation of the plan.  MPS will:

  • Conduct on-site assessment consisting of interviews and walk through of a sample of district facilities.
  • Collaborate with Information Technology, Instructional Technology and Business groups to gather data regarding District operations and budgets.
  • MPS will provide copies (maximum ten) of Creating a Culture of Learning by Glenn Meeks to the District Executive team.  (Team is expected to read the book prior to the First Planning Lab.)
  • Conduct two collaborative planning labs attended by policy, executive, departmental, building level and classroom level members of the organization.
  • Correlate data and planning lab findings into a first draft of the District’s SCL Roadmap
  • Remotely facilitate executive team review and revision of first draft.
  • On-site review of second draft with planning lab participants.
  • Incorporate comments and revisions into final draft of SCL Roadmap.
